NEW HIGHLANDS LOGO – This past Sunday, Pastor Jason gave Highlanders their first look at our updated Highlands Logo. This refreshed image boldly reflects the church’s image and will be featured on our new billboard, signage, and all communications in the weeks to come. Watch for the billboard at the intersection of Taylor Place Road and 127 South.

LADIES’ ROOM RENOVATION – Ladies, renovations are nearing completion, and we anticipate that finishing touches will be completed soon.  Women, please continue to temporarily use the Men’s Room. Men use the Family Room (just inside the Women’s Room), and the bathroom in the storage room (just before the Women’s Room). Signs are posted. WALK TO GRACE IN MARCH: The Spring Men’s walk is next week, Thursday, March 5th – Sunday, March 8th, in Smithville. The Women’s Walk follows March 19th – March 22nd. STUDY ON BOOK OF JAMES –  This Wednesday, February 18th, we will continue our study in the Book of James – one of the most misunderstood books in the New Covenant. But not for long! We’re diving in, breaking it down, and uncovering truths that will absolutely open your eyes. This is practical, challenging, and incredibly exciting – the kind of teaching that sticks with you and changes how you live.

SERIES ON GOD’S KINGDOM – Practical, encouraging, and rooted in real life and genuine faith. Have you ever wondered how to handle finances in a healthy, God-honoring way? Or how to care for yourself-physically and mentally-when life feels heavy? How to intentionally care for your marriage in the middle of busy seasons? You’re not alone, and we’re diving into all of this together.

Thank you to those who attended the Briarwood Ballet performance this Sunday! We loved welcoming the talented dancers from Birmingham for such an inspiring and uplifting evening. 🌟 Spotlight on the Greeting Team 🌟
The Greeting Team is a group of amazing volunteers who help set the tone at Highlands by welcoming everyone with genuine love and kindness. From holding the door with a smile, greeting familiar faces by name, or answering questions for first-time guests, this team—alongside our Parking Team—creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for all who walk through our doors. Greeting Team volunteers serve at the main entrances on Sundays from 9–10 am and Wednesdays from 5–6 pm, just before service begins. Our goal is for each volunteer to serve about once a month, making it an easy and meaningful way to get involved. WINTER WEATHER NOTIFICATIONS: If we need to cancel Sunday’s service due to winter weather, we will post a message on the Highlands Facebook page, email those on this contact list, post info on the home page of the web site under News, and announce on local radio. 

LADIES ROOM RENOVATION – Renovation has begun on the Ladies’ Room! All stalls are currently accessible as they work on the walls. To avoid inconvenience as the work continues, only one stall will be worked on at a time, leaving three available. Among the updates, the floors will be updated to tile, sink and counter space will be added, the water heater access improved, and plumbing pressure issues addressed. 

DON’T MISS WEDNESDAY NIGHT’S SERVICE! Pastor’s message will be on “Baptism Fire.”  The message was originally planned for Sunday, but the Holy Spirit had other plans as we joyfully worshipped for two hours.

– SPOTLIGHT ON SOUND MEDIA AND LIGHTING TEAM –  Do you appreciate the amazing sound, audio, and visual and lighting during Highlands’ services? Many enjoy watching services online via livestream, or on demand as you have time. By joining this team, you can “plug in” to a choice of several areas. All areas require some degree of technical knowledge, but don’t worry! You will be trained by veterans. There is the sound board, the lighting, the scripture slides, videos, running the cameras, livestreaming the services, posting the video of services to our shared platforms… and much more. FAKE EMAIL NOTICE – We have been made aware that some members of our church have received fake emails that appear to be from Pastor Jason. These messages are requesting gift cards or money. Please know that Pastor Jason and our Leadership Team would never make this type of request.

If you receive an email or message like this, do not respond or send anything. Please report it to the church office or a member of the leadership team right away so we can address it. Thank you for helping us protect our church family.

This meeting is for ALL who serve in Highlands Kids, and for ANYONE interested in serving. New volunteers, please sign up quickly.

Highlands men, please join us for our FIRST MEN’S BREAKFAST! Bring your appetite to the Highland’s Cafe on Saturday, January 31st at 9:00 am. This will be a time to come together, enjoy a good meal, fellowship, and build stronger relationships with one another! We hope to see you there! Sign In & Dismissal – Parents, we’d love your help! Please try to check in your kids before 10:00 AM on Sundays and 6:00 PM on Wednesdays. Also, wait to take them to class until Highlands Kids are officially dismissed from the Sanctuary. This gives our teachers time to get to their rooms and be ready to welcome your little ones. Thank you!

Moms and Dads – note that children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult when using the restroom. The well-being and safety of your children is our greatest responsibility!
