Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Highlands Kids trip to Ramsey Farms! We had a wonderful turnout and a great time together. We truly missed those who couldn’t make it, but we love seeing our church family come together to enjoy fun and fellowship.

Mark your calendars! On Sunday, October 5th, we’ll be celebrating Pastor Appreciation Day! A thank-you card will be placed on each seat for you to write a note of encouragement if you’d like. We’ll be having cake in the cafe after service and will be receiving a love offering to bless Pastor Jason and his family if you wish to participate.

Be sure to join us for Fields of Faith on Wednesday, October 8th, at 6:00 PM at the YAI Football Stadium! We will not have our usual Wednesday night activities, so that everyone can come out, bring a chair, and enjoy an evening of worship, prayer, and praise with our community!

Compassion Ministries will be at South Fentress Elementary on Saturday, October 11th, from 10 to noon for a food giveaway. Please share the information with any local families or individuals in need. They need as many volunteer workers as possible to help. Please be there by 8:30 am.

Fall Cleaning Day is coming up on Sunday, October 19th! Stay after service for a time of fellowship as we work together to care for God’s house. Lunch will be provided for those who stay to help.

Preorder your Sweet Potato Pies! Fresh homemade sweet potato pies will be available in early November, just in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday! $12 for one pie, or two for $20. See the sign-up sheet in the foyer. Proceeds will benefit our Highlands Kids.

Indoor Fitness Class – Ms Angie Robbins will once again be leading an indoor fitness class on Thursdays at 5 pm. This low-impact exercise class follows a video walking routine. If you are interested, sign up at: https://highlands-church-of-the-.subspla.sh/link/groups/f34afaf6-0038-4b88-9c78-9cb76815613e  or just come by the church this Thursday!

We need YOU! – We are currently looking for volunteers across all of our ministries here at Highlands, but our GREATEST NEEDS are in Highlands Kids, our Greeting Team, and on our Parking Team. If you have a heart for children or a friendly smile to welcome guests, we’d love to have you serve with us. Your time and willingness can make a BIG impact on the Kingdom! There are sign-up sheets in the foyer, but feel free to ask Seth, Diana, or any leader to learn more!

NEW! Operation Christmas Child– Let’s keep the momentum going as we pack with purpose! Looking ahead to October, we’ll be collecting small musical instruments (like harmonicas) and flip flops. Leave donations in the bin in the foyer near the HK Welcome Desk.

The 3rd Annual HK Christmas Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, November 1st, 2025, from 11 am to 4 pm. Just in time for the Christmas holiday, local vendors will be selling a variety of crafts, baked goods, and other homemade and unique creations. The only fee is to rent a table. Vendors keep their proceeds. This fundraiser for Highland’s Kids has continued to grow each year. For more information on selling and buying, visit  https://www.highlandschurchtn.org/hk-christmas-bazaar/

Note: The deadline for vendors to register and pay for table(s) is October 18th, 2025. Questions? See Kim Ward or Kim Gove.

Highlands Kids:

Sign In & Dismissal – Parents, we’d love your help! Please try to check in your kids before 10:00 AM on Sundays and 6:00 PM on Wednesdays. Also, wait to take them to class until Highlands Kids are officially dismissed from the Sanctuary. This gives our teachers time to get to their rooms and be ready to welcome your little ones. Thanks so much!

Moms and Dads – note that children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult when using the restroom. The well-being and safety of your children is our greatest responsibility!

Volunteer Opportunities: We’re growing and NEED faithful volunteers in EVERY DEPARTMENT! Join us in serving our Heavenly Father and His people! We hope to have enough volunteers so that each of us only has to serve once a month. There are sign-up sheets for each department in the lobby.

Service Opportunities:

If you’re ready to serve or have a skill but aren’t sure where to start, stop by the admin office or contact a department leader. You can shadow with no commitment required! Let’s grow together!
