August 12-19 Announcements
Please pick up any remaining items loaned to the church for VBS under the Community sign (the wall before the ladies bathroom).
Get ready for Baptism, Pot Luck, and Celebration on Sunday, August 17th!
Don’t miss this special time of celebration and fellowship with your Highlands Family!
If you are ready to be baptized, add your name to the sign-up sheet outside the Sanctuary. Following Baptism, we will enjoy a potluck and fellowship, and cake/send-off in honor of Levi Kerr, who leaves for Bible College on August 24th.
Highlands Youth will be going bowling in Crossville after service on August 24th! If you are a youth and need a ride, please let Amber, Wesley, or Katie know.
Walk to Grace of the Cumberlands (formerly known as Emmaus) will be holding walks in September at Allen’s Chapel in Smithville. The Men’s walk is scheduled for Sept 4th-7th. The Women’s walk is scheduled for Sept 18th-21st. If you previously applied for a walk, you should be hearing from organizers. If you’d like to apply for a walk, more information and application forms are available here: https://www.walktograceofthecumberlands.com/
The Men’s Room renovation is near completion! We can look forward to a refurbished space to be completed within a week. In the meantime, two alternative bathroom areas have been set aside for the men. One is located through the door just outside the women’s room, and the second is a private room just inside the women’s room. Moms and Dads – NOTE: HK1 is available as a changing area for young ones in diapers. Also note that children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult when using the restroom. The well-being and safety of your children is our greatest responsibility!
We need YOU! – We are currently looking for volunteers across all of our ministries here at Highlands, but our greatest needs are in Highlands Kids, our Greeting Team, and on our Parking Team. If you have a heart for children or a friendly smile to welcome guests, we’d love to have you serve with us. Your time and willingness can make a BIG impact on the Kingdom! There are sign-up sheets in the foyer, but feel free to ask Seth, Diana, or any leader to learn more!
Did you know you can listen to Highlands Church podcasts? Current and past messages by Pastor Jason and guest speakers are available to listen to on the go, in the car, or to share with friends and family. Help us spread the Word of the Lord’s Finished Work, and the joy of the Good News!

The 3rd Annual HK Christmas Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, November 1st, 2025, from 11 am to 4 pm. Just in time for the Christmas holiday, local vendors will be selling a variety of crafts, baked goods, and other homemade and unique creations. The only fee is to rent a table. Vendors keep their proceeds. This fundraiser for Highland’s Kids program has continued to grow each year. For more information on selling and buying, visit https://www.highlandschurchtn.org/hk-christmas-bazaar/
Note: The deadline for vendors to register and pay for table(s) is October 18th, 2025. Questions? See Kim Ward or Kim Gove.
