SAVE the DATE, WED., DEC. 6th: Dr. Ming Wang will be with us as we host a very special, FREE viewing of SIGHT, Dec. 6th, 6pm! Sight, starring Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning Greg Kinnear and Terry Chen, is based on the true story of Dr. Ming Wang, a poor Chinese immigrant, who defies all odds to become a world-renowned eye surgeon in the United States. Set in 1970’s rural China, a young Ming faces persecution and despair at every turn, but through the support of his dedicated family and his own unwavering determination, he finds his way to America, attends Harvard and MIT, and helps develop an innovative technology that restores sight in millions. Taking on the seemingly impossible challenge of helping a blind orphan, the resilient Dr. Wang must reconcile with his own traumatic past and face the harsh reality that the strength of his own will can only go so far. (We will not have our 4:30pm prayer time, but dinner will be served at 5pm. Dr. Wang’s presentation and movie will begin at 6pm.)
SAVE the DATE, MOVIE NIGHT, SAT., JAN. 6th: We are excited to show The Blind at Highlands on January 6th, 7pm! Long before Phil Robertson became a reality TV star, he fell in love with Miss Kay and started a family, but demons threatened to tear their lives apart. Set in the backwoods swamps of 1960s Louisiana, THE BLIND shares never-before-revealed moments in Phil’s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place. This stunning cinematic journey chronicles the love story that launched a dynasty, the turmoil that nearly brought it crashing down, and the hope that rose from the ashes to create a foundation for generations to come. You can purchase tickets for this event by going to The Blind tickets.
Tickets cost $11 for adults and $9 for kids, plus ticketing processing fees. Contact Shannon Shraufnagel with questions, jss2004@gmail.com or 715-445-1021.
