Church, this is a CHANGE/update to our earlier announcements….so sorry for any confusion. We have just been made aware of the very special Fields of Faith happening THIS Wednesday, Oct. 20th. We know it is very important for HCOTC to connect and support this outreach/ministry event. So please make plans to join us THIS Wed., at the York Institute Football Field, 6pm to 8pm. This means that ALL HCOTC Wednesday activities are canceled for this week.* We will worship together at the football field! We want to support our youth and our community! Bring on the UNITY!(*We will work on shoe boxes THIS Sun., Oct. 24th, after church rather than this Wed.) Fields of Faith is a student led event. Students invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ. An athletic field provides a neutral, rally point where a community can come together.
HCOTC FALL FEST, Oct. 30th: We would like to invite everyone out to our 1st Annual, Highlands’ Fall Family Funfest on Saturday, October 30th, from 5-7 pm, at Highlands Church. We will have games, cotton candy, popcorn, hotdogs, snow cones, and prizes! Kids, bring your bags and buckets for the candy caravan! Hope to see everyone there! OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: This is your FINAL opportunity to shop for balls, small games, socks, jump ropes, small toys for boys and girls, pencil sharpeners, pencils, crayons, mini-notebooks, girls’ jewelry, etc.*SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24th (note the change of date): We need help putting together the shoe boxes. Just a few minutes of your time after service would be great!SUNDAY NOVEMBER 7TH: AFTER SERVICE, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO PACK THE BOXES! Put it on your calendar!
HARVESTING PRAISE, Nov. 12 & 13, FBC: This is a special, youth unity weekend event that is hosted by First Baptist Church, Jamestown (306 East Central Ave.) on Friday, Nov. 12 & Saturday, Nov. 13. Registration begins Friday at 4pm (the event ends 8pm). Saturday breakfast begins at 10am, with lots of fun and ministry to follow (ends at approx. 8:30pm)! Highlands will be leading worship Fri. & Sat…Pastor Jason is blessed to be speaking Sat. evening. Pray over this special weekend and let’s get our youth involved!!! And please, INVITE others!
GLOBAL WATER CENTER EVENT (volunteer info): Jeff & Margie MacFarland have invited HCOTC to volunteer in Nashville, TN with their ministry, Global Water Center! This will be an awesome opportunity to serve alongside our dear friends, spread the Gospel, and help provide safe water to those in need! (GWC Volunteer Info)EVENT: Nashville at Opry Mills, 433 Opry Mills Dr. The exhibit will be open Wednesday, 11/3 – Sunday, 11/7, 10 AM – 5 PM (last registration at 4 PM) and Wednesday, 11/10 – Saturday 11/13 same hours. Last day, Sunday, 11/14, 10 AM – 3 PMWe will be setting up on Sunday 10/31 – Tuesday 11/2 and breaking down Sunday 11/14 (starting at 3) through Tuesday 11/16. We would love to have everyone come out and volunteer during any portion of our visit to Nashville and of course, hope that everyone can come out to tour the exhibit.
